London [UK], May 15 (ANI): Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has been named the Premier League Manager of the Season after his side's successful run in the league.
Manchester City, on Sunday, clinched the Premier League title which was their second consecutive title. Similarly, the 48-year old bagged the award for the second year in a row. Guardiola gave credit to his players and the staff while calling Liverpool's manager Jurgen Klopp, who was also a nominee for the award, an 'incredible contender'.
"It's an honour to receive this award. I want to share it with my players because they are the artists of everything, to my staff because we fought a lot [against] all the managers in the Premier League, especially Jurgen Klopp, an incredible contender to face till the end," Premier League website quoted Guardiola, as saying.
"It was a pleasure to play against all of them and hopefully do big, big battles again to win an incredible title," he added.
The other nominees were Nuno Espirito Santo, Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino and the winner was decided based on the votes from public combined with those of a panel of football experts.
